 | | THE GOODNESS OF THE BISCUIT Needless to say, the road hasn't been kind to the Canucks. Vancouver has been outscored 17-3 in the three Stanley Cup Final games in Boston, including 5-2 in Game 6, including 4-0 in a 4:14 span of the first period. Those were the fastest four goals in Stanley Cup Final history. So there will be a Game 7 tomorrow night up in Southwest Canada, because it's good to put the biscuit in the basket. But it's better to taste the goodness of the biscuit with the honey sauce. | | O CAPTAIN! In a 1-0 loss to the Indians, Derek Jeter moved within six hits of 3,000, and then moved within reach of the disabled list when he left with a Grade I strain of the calf. It's the same injury that Alex Rodriguez suffered back on August 16th. A-Rod came back on August 20th, came to the plate once, and came away hurt again. And he didn't play again until September 5th. At the very least, Jeter won't play tonight against the Rangers. And if he doesn't play at all against the Rangers, that's too bad for him. He's a combined 11-for-30 in his career against their probable starters (see: Alexi Ogando, Derek Holland, and C.J. Wilson). So it's bad to be a man with a calf problem. But it's probably worse to be a man with a pig problem. | | WALKING OFF, WALKING IN Top-seeded Virginia had given up the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth, and was down to its last strike with the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. No better time than that to string together four at-bats and plate two runs to walk off against UC Irvine and walk into the field for the 2011 College World Series. Honestly, The Rundown expected more out of the Anteaters. | | FOOTBALL-ISH Terrelle Pryor is set to meet the media today in talented South Beach (2:00 ET, live on SportsCenter). It's unknown whether or not Pryor will answer questions. (But really, The Rundown has only one question that needs answering.) The afternoon session looks like it will come hours after a morning session with Chad Ochocinco running routes for him. Which means that Ochocinco won't be running routes in this morning's inaugural Brett Favre 7-on-7 camp in talented Hattiesburg. You know that Ed Werder is there. And not just because each team apparently receives one bag containing: - One team photo with Brett Favre - One autographed Brett Favre football - One autographed 8x10 picture of Brett Favre - 25 Brett Favre camp t-shirts - 25 Brett Favre autograph cards - 25 pairs of old, unwashed, Brett Favre jeans (Not true.) | | 4
| Roberto Luongo allowed 3 goals to the Bruins on 8 shots and was pulled for the 4th time this postseason. His goals-against average is 3.76 on the road in this postseason - and 8.05 in Boston in this series. Vancouver has already announced that he'll be back in net in Game 7. It's true that the man has won gold in the World Championships and in the Winter Olympics. So it's not like they're running a complete clown out there.

| In a 12-9 win over the Marlins, Zach Duke hit the 2nd homer of his career. It's also the 2nd homer of his season. That's as many as Derek Jeter and Jason Bay. In fact, Duke now has 2 homers in 6 at-bats as a Diamondback this season. Before this season, he had 0 homers in 293 AB as a Pirate. Of course he did.
