STEP UP TO STANLEY'S CUP
For the first time since 2002, the final game of the NBA Finals went final before the final game of the Stanley Cup Final. That could come tonight in Boston (8:00 ET) where the Canucks stand just one win away from their first title for the second time ever (see also: Game 7 in 1994 against the Rangers). So far, the team that scored first has won every game of the series. Which means it's more important than ever to get in on the action early.

FALLEN GIANTS
San Francisco's Giants rallied for four unanswered runs to beat the Reds in Sunday's nightcap. But that win was overshadowed by Friday's loss of second baseman Freddy Sanchez, which an MRI has now confirmed as a dislocated right shoulder. He was their leading (healthy) hitter and will be re-examined this week, hoping to avoid season-ending surgery. The champs are already missing Buster Posey, but at least they'll get the Kung-Fu Panda back tomorrow against the Diamondbacks. Just need to keep him safe and sound.

PLAIN DEALING
The news keeps getting better and better for the good people of Ohio. And now, Cleveland fans in New York can turn their attention back to baseball when their Indians get a shot at the Yankees tonight. The same Yankees who have won 7 of their last 8 at home. The same Indians that have lost 9 of their last 10 anywhere. But the Tribe send Carlos Carrasco to the hill. He took a shutout into the ninth in his last outing. And the Yanks counter with A.J. Burnett. He took a beating in his last outing, coughing up a season-high 7 earned runs. And if that doesn't work for Cleveland fans, they can always take in a show.

THREE RANDOM NUMBERS TO IMPRESS THREE RANDOM PEOPLE
62

Dallas' lone star (literally, Dirk Nowitzki was the only Mavericks all-star) outshined them all to take home to the club the Finals MVP trophy. He led everybody with 62 fourth-quarter points in the series, matching the total of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James combined. And the haters gonna hate.

-24

Speaking of LeBron, he finished with 21 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Which sounds great, except that his Heat were outscored by 24 points when he was on the floor. That's his worst +/- in any game this season - regular season or postseason. That's a bit of a surprise, no?

84

Jeff Gordon was a winner (again) at Pocono, the 84th time in his career he's been a winner of a Sprint Cup race. Only two drivers have ever won more. David Pearson won 105. And Richard Petty won 200. None of them needed any help turning left.

TWO CENTS WORTH
"how amazing was it that dirk, brian cardinal and ian mahini planned to all sign with the Mavs this summer !! #big3 #makingithappen"

Twitter proves that Mark Cuban didn't sleep much last night.

"I could already feel the tears coming...I had to recover, bro."

Dirk hustled off the court after the win so he could cry alone. Of course for Dallas, public tears can only flow over a quarterback.
